When One Door Closes

The journey began when Brielle FB messaged me explaining that her and Matt were thinking about buying a home. From that point, we spent mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings (whatever worked with all of our different schedules) looking at houses in lots of different areas. We wrote offers, went through inspections, started escrow, cancelled escrow, etc. For some reason, something kept getting in the way of us going through the process of purchasing a home.
In the meantime, Lisa contacted me and expressed interest in selling her and her husband Dan's house and purchasing a new one. She explained upfront that she knew it would be tough because she had very specific criteria she and Dan desired. At that moment, I made a note to self to consistently check the market for what they wanted, however, they were still unsure about when they truly wanted to begin this process.
One day, Lisa texted me saying they were ready to list their house and find a new one. So, later that evening, we met and decided on a price for their home. As we were going over the price and the features their current home had, it hit me! This was the PERFECT home for Matt and Brielle. Right away, I called Brielle (even though it was later in the evening). Her, Matt, and baby Logann hopped in the car and came to look at the house right then and there. Low and behold, within minutes of me listing the house, we had buyers who were ready to sign. We were all pretty excited, but now it was time to really start searching for a new home for Dan and Lisa because Matt and Brielle couldn't move in until they could move out!
Dan, Lisa, baby Benjamin, and I looked at every single house on the market with their desired criteria. Finally, we found a house that we thought would be perfect, however it was a bit over the desired price range. After several negotiating phone calls and very determined buyers, we were able to get the right price and the escrow began for both houses.
Now here we are, 30 days, two inspections, two appraisals, two termite inspections, two loans, countless phone calls/text messages, and a whole lot of waiting later, we are finally closed and have two very happy families ready to start this new journey; ready to fill these homes with their belongings and make these houses into their homes. And here I am, as the Realtor, feeling so incredibly blessed to have gotten to know these two families so well because I know they are so deserving of a happy home. And, the best part is I got to help make that happen for them! I now understand why things were not working out for Matt and Brielle in the beginning. There was a bigger, better plan in store and without that journey, we would have never reached this destination.
